We opened with the new D&D item articles, because magical nonsense with rules is still a valid way to explain real-world behavior. From there, the conversation jumped into Jumpsteady, ICP family references, movie callbacks, and how sampling, likeness, transformation, and creative reuse keep showing up across music, movies, and media.
That took us through Godsmack sampling No Escape, Jay and Silent Bob’s discussion about likeness rights, Silent Bob actually making a point, Randall’s Lord of the Rings rant in Clerks 2, Puscifer’s “Conditions of My Parole,” the damaged Airstream in the video, Airheads and D&D, Lemmy being God, Lemmy yelling “I was editor of my school newspaper!”, and Denis Leary’s “Asshole.”
Then the talk moved into rideshare, looking at Rideshare Pro’s latest discussion about what is affecting the platforms, driver pay, customer pricing, and the part that often gets skipped: Uber and Lyft are publicly traded companies, which means earnings, reporting, investors, and public expectations are always part of the equation.
We also talked about the infographic covering colleges and the way people describe the “gaslighting” effect some ChatGPT settings can create. That matters because the first setting most users never change can shape the tone of what they receive back, and I am very aware that I am using ChatGPT as part of my dictation and description-writing process. The point is not pretending the tool is invisible. The point is understanding the tool, the settings, the tone, and how much of the thinking still has to come from the person using it.
That also connects to the research side of projects like Five Days with G, especially Ganesh as one of the characters. Ganesha is traditionally known as the remover of obstacles, often honored first, and described as a joyful figure. That fits the story more than expected, especially when names, references, and cultural meaning start stacking up.
Happy Birthday, Mom.
